Hiring People - Selection Interviewing Skills

Whether you are a large or small organisation, you need to find the right person for the job. You may be appointing for the first time, adding to existing staff, or building a strong team for a particular project. Our course will help you implement a recruitment procedure that meets legal and professional standards and equips interviewers with the skills and knowledge to maximise the chance of selecting the right people. We will show you how to:

• Implement the seven stages of the recruitment process
• Use job profiles and specifications to identify key performance requirements
• Prepare a structure and questions for a productive recruitment interview
• Make considered decisions based on appropriate criteria
• Assess the legal considerations that might affect the process
• Design a job quantifying statement to help target effective questioning
• Use active listening and questioning skills during interviews
• Use a decision making matrix
• Follow up using the best format

About this workshop

• This workshop will involve you in a mixture of interactive exercises and discussion. There will be opportunities to practise your new skills through role playing exercises in a supportive atmosphere.
• Our trainers are experts in their topic and deliver courses in a practical, interactive style
• The maximum number of people on a training course is 12 so that the trainer can accommodate the learning needs of each delegate
• A two course buffet lunch and unlimited tea and coffee are included in the price

Timing
Courses start at 9.30 a.m. and end at 4.30 p.m. with half an hour for lunch.

There are a number of places available which are reserved for businesses with less than 250 employees and companies must meet certain eligibility criteria.
