LinkedIn for business

Twitter and Facebook may get more hype but LinkedIn remains arguably the most important social business tool. LinkedIn is a network of professionals looking to build connections with others in their fields. If you need to contact the sales director or chief executive of a company, you’ll find them on LinkedIn. And if you want to attract new business to your own company, or even find a new job, you’d better make sure that you’re on LinkedIn too. This course is pitched at people who either don’t use LinkedIn or who do but feel you aren’t making the most of it.
We’ll show you how to:

• Join LinkedIn and write an effective profile
• Search LinkedIn for business contacts
• Request introductions through your network
• Search and join LinkedIn groups
• Solicit endorsements from professional contacts to enhance your profile
• Build a personal presence in relevant discussions and groups
• Connect LinkedIn to your blog (see the Blogging for business course in this series)
• Use LinkedIn for recruitment
• Use LinkedIn Answers for business research

• This workshop will involve you in a mixture of interactive exercises and discussion. There will be opportunities to practise your new skills through role playing exercises in a supportive atmosphere
• Our trainers are experts in their topic and deliver courses in a practical, interactive style

About the Facilitator

Your Trainer
Kyle is a successful serial entrepreneur with a background in journalism and a focus on building brands through social media marketing. In 2005, he founded Scoopt.com, a social network of amateur photographers selling newsworthy photos and videos to the media. This was an innovative, disruptive model that used the power of web 2.0 technologies and network effects to grow a business with zero spend on advertising. Getty Images acquired Scoopt in 2007. Kyle subsequently headed a pioneering social media project for Channel 4. He currently helps companies exploit the social media toolset to reach new audiences in new ways.
