Using Twitter for Business
You can’t open a newspaper or watch the news without hearing about Twitter. But beyond celebrity tittle-tattle and the occasional breaking news story, does Twitter deserve a place in your business strategy? The short answer is a resounding yes. Twitter, a social network where people exchange information in short bursts, is growing at a phenomenal rate. It allows you to track what’s being said about, well, about everything – and to join in relevant conversations. In the short term, it helps you build relationships; in the long term, it can generate new business.
We will show you how to:
- Automatically find new, relevant followers
- Manage your followers in lists
- Set up advanced filtered searches
- Manage multiple Twitter accounts
- Group management for one Twitter account
- Track your Twitter links
- Use hashtags
- Integrate Twitter with Facebook or a blog
- Master Tweetdeck on the desktop (and optionally iPhone)

About the Facilitator
Your Trainer
Kyle is a successful serial entrepreneur with a background in journalism and a focus on building brands through social media marketing. In 2005, he founded Scoopt.com, a social network of amateur photographers selling newsworthy photos and videos to the media. This was an innovative, disruptive model that used the power of web 2.0 technologies and network effects to grow a business with zero spend on advertising. Getty Images acquired Scoopt in 2007. Kyle subsequently headed a pioneering social media project for Channel 4. He currently helps companies exploit the social media toolset to reach new audiences in new ways.
